Gate Keepers is a tactical role-playing game developed by Entertainment Software Publishing and published by Kadokawa Shoten for the PlayStation. The game was adapted into a manga series and an anime series. The story is set in 1969, during a period of intense development in Japan. Unbeknownst to humans, alien beings known as 'Invaders' have emerged with plans to take over the world. To defend the planet, an elite organization called A.E.G.I.S. was created, relying on 'Gate Keepers' who have the power to open dimensional gates and possess superpowers. The series focuses on the Far East division in Japan, with its headquarters beneath Tategami High School. Gate Keepers 1985 tells the story leading up to Gate Keepers 21.
