The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross is a shōjo manga series written and illustrated by Arina Tanemura. The story follows Haine Otomiya, a 15-year-old high school student who was sold by her father to another family. She enters the elite private Imperial Academy to win the love of Shizumasa Tōgū, the Emperor of the school. However, she discovers that Shizumasa is not who he seems to be, and his twin brother Takanari is the one she truly loves. The series ran for 47 chapters from September 2004 to June 2008. It was licensed for English release by Viz Media. The manga was well-received, ranking on various bestseller lists.
